Sovereign AI

Where data is processed, who can compel access to it, and under whose law, are design inputs rather than procurement details. We build AI systems that satisfy them provably rather than contractually.

The business problem

A regional endpoint is not sovereignty

Choosing a European region does not by itself resolve which jurisdiction can compel disclosure, where support staff are located, or where telemetry and abuse-monitoring data flow. For public sector bodies and regulated institutions those distinctions are the requirement, and they are frequently discovered late, after an architecture is already committed.

What we do

Establish the requirement, then build to it

We start by establishing what sovereignty actually means for you, since it ranges from data residency to full operational independence, and the cost difference is large. Then we design to that specific standard: where models run, where telemetry goes, who holds keys, who can access the environment and from where. The result is documented as evidence, because that is what a supervisor or a procurement process asks for.

Common use cases

Common use cases

  • Meet a public sector requirement that data remains within the jurisdiction.
  • Satisfy a supervisor's expectations on operational resilience and third-party dependency.
  • Build for a customer whose contract prohibits processing outside a named territory.
  • Reduce concentration risk on a single non-domestic provider.

How we deliver

How we deliver

  1. Assess

Establish the constraints: residency, latency, spend and what already runs.

  2. Architect

Design gateway, routing, caching and failover so provider choice stays reversible.

  3. Instrument

Observability, evaluation and cost attribution wired in before traffic arrives.

  4. Operate

Run it against agreed service levels, with capacity and spend reviewed on a cycle.

Security & governance

Security & governance

Where data may be processed is a configuration, not an assumption: models can run in your own cloud tenancy or on your own hardware where residency or isolation requires it. Traffic through the gateway is authenticated, attributed to a team and logged, which is what makes both the audit trail and the cost model possible.

Why TeamExtension.ai

We separate the requirement from the anxiety

Sovereignty requirements are often stated more broadly than they are meant, and building to the broadest reading is expensive. We work with legal and compliance to establish what is genuinely required, then build exactly that.

Frequently asked questions

Frequently asked questions

Is a European cloud region sufficient?
Sometimes, and often not. It addresses residency but not necessarily jurisdictional reach over the provider, support access from outside the region, or where operational telemetry flows. Which of those matter depends on your obligations.
Does this mean self-hosting?
Not always. European providers and sovereign cloud offerings satisfy many requirements without operating your own inference. Self-hosting is the answer when the requirement is operational independence rather than residency.
What does it cost relative to hosted?
More, and the multiple depends on how strict the requirement is and how steady the volume. We model it explicitly so the trade is a decision rather than a surprise.
How is compliance evidenced?
Through architecture documentation, data flow records, access logs and contractual terms, assembled as an evidence pack rather than assertions. That is what auditors and procurement actually review.
